All the flavors of pizza in a little veggie-packed bite? These zucchini pizza bites are a fun little toddler-friendly snack that my whole family loves.

These zucchini pizza bites are one of my favorite easy ways to serve veggies to a toddler, but honestly, they’re so good that the whole family can enjoy them. With just zucchini, pizza sauce, and melty cheese, they come together in minutes and make an easy lunch, snack, or simple side. They’re soft enough for little ones to bite and chew, while still feeling like a fun little pizza.

Zucchini Pizza Bites

You will love Zucchini Pizza Bites because:

  • They turn simple zucchini into something the whole family will actually get excited about.
  • Just three simple ingredients are all you need.
  • They’re a great toddler-friendly recipe, but definitely not limited to toddlers.
  • Pizza sauce and melted cheese make veggies a whole lot more fun.
  • They’re quick enough for an easy lunch or snack on a busy day.
  • You can easily customize them with your favorite pizza toppings.

Zucchini Pizza Bites are made with:

  • Zucchini: The base of these little pizza bites and a simple way to add some veggies to your meal.
  • Pizza sauce: Adds all the classic pizza flavor without needing to make your own sauce.
  • Mozzarella or cheddar cheese: Melts over the top and gives these that cheesy pizza finish everyone loves.

How to make Zucchini Pizza Bites:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Slice the zucchini into 1/4-inch rounds and arrange them in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • Spoon a small amount of pizza sauce onto each zucchini round.Sprinkle shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese over the top.
  • Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the zucchini is fork tender.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Substitutions:

  • Cheese: Mozzarella gives you the classic pizza flavor, while cheddar adds a little more sharpness. You can also use a blend of cheeses.
  • Pizza sauce: Marinara sauce works in a pinch, or you can use your favorite homemade pizza sauce.
  • Zucchini: Yellow summer squash can be used in place of zucchini.

Recipe Tips:

  • Slice the zucchini as evenly as possible so the rounds cook at the same rate.
  • Don’t cut the zucchini too thin or it can become very soft while baking.
  • Keep the zucchini in a single layer on the baking sheet so each piece cooks evenly.
  • Let them cool for a few minutes before serving, especially for toddlers.
  • Add extra toppings like finely chopped pepperoni, cooked sausage, diced veggies, or a sprinkle of Italian seasoning for a more loaded pizza bite.

Taste and Texture:

These zucchini pizza bites are soft and tender with lightly roasted zucchini, tangy pizza sauce, and gooey melted cheese. They have all the familiar flavors of pizza while still letting the zucchini shine through.

For toddlers, they’re soft and easy to eat, and for the rest of the family, they make a fun veggie-packed snack or side dish.

Serve and Store:

Serve these warm right out of the oven or let them cool slightly before serving. They make a great toddler lunch, snack, appetizer, or easy side alongside pasta, sandwiches, or a salad.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer until warmed through to help the cheese get melty again.
