Cherry Pie Smoothie

Have pie for breakfast with this cherry pie protein smoothie that tastes indulgent and is wonderfully refreshing!

A protein smoothie inspired by a dessert. After making a blueberry muffin smoothie I was motivated to make more smoothies inspired by baked goods. This delicious cherry smoothie is made with cherries, oats, and hidden veggies for a gluten-free, dairy-free protein smoothie.

You will love Cherry Pie Smoothie because:

  • Cherry pie smoothie is a healthy high protein smoothie that tastes like cherry pie
  • A quick and healthy protein-packed recipe
  • Vegan, gluten-free, and plant-based recipe
  • Filling and blood-sugar balancing
  • A balanced smoothie with protein, fat, and fiber
  • Hidden veggies to add a boost of nutrients
  • It is an easy way to sneak in veggies without making a green smoothie

Cherry Pie Smoothie is made with:

  • Milk: I use almond or cashew milk
  • Frozen cherries: frozen cherries make it sweet and creamy and are high in antioxidants
  • Frozen riced cauliflower: hidden veggies you will never taste but adds bulk, nutrients, and creaminess to the smoothie
  • Oats: use gluten-free oats if needed
  • Almond butter: adds healthy fats for satiety and gives the smoothie a richer flavor
  • Ground flaxseed: is optional but adds a boost the nutrition and extra fiber
  • Protein Powder: I use vanilla or cinnamon protein powder
  • Cinnamon: a warming spice that can help balance blood sugar

Recipe Tips:

  • Make sure to use a cinnamon or vanilla protein you enjoy
  • If you are gluten-free make sure your oats are certified gluten-free
  • I use a lot of cinnamon so add to your taste preference
  • Frozen zucchini slices can work in place of the frozen riced cauliflower
  • I like to buy my frozen cherries and riced cauliflower from Costco to keep this recipe budget-friendly
  • Add granola or cereal for some added crunch and satisfaction
  • Ground flaxseed is optional but adds extra fiber
