- Almond butter: full of heart-healthy fats, improves skin health, and helps to keep you satiated

How to make Chickpea Brownie Batter Protein Bites:
- Drain and rinse a can of chickpeas
- Add chickpeas, chocolate protein, cacao powder, almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt to a food processor
- Process the mixture until it forms a smooth dough and all ingredients are well incorporated
- Scoop the batter with a cookie dough scoop and roll it into balls then place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Place the baking sheet in the freezer and let the dough harden for about 30 minutes
- Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil
- Once the brownie balls have hardened dip each ball into the chocolate and place back on the backing sheet sprinkling with sea salt if you like
- Once all brownie bites have been dipped in chocolate place them back in the freezer to let the chocolate harden
- Store in the fridge or the freezer (if you store them in the freeze let them thaw for 5 or so minutes before eating) and enjoy!
Substitutions:
- You can use white beans in place of the chickpeas
- Almond butter makes these taste rich and chocolatey, but any nut butter will work, just changes the flavor a little bit
- If you do not have cacao powder you can use cocoa powder in its place
- Swap honey for another liquid sweetener such as honey
Recipe Tips:
- Make sure to drain and rinse chickpeas thoroughly
- This recipe works best in a food processor, however, you could also use a high-speed blender (you might have to blend chickpeas on their own before adding other ingredients)
- I always use a cookie dough scoop to make evenly sized-protein bites
- Melt chocolate in the microwave on power level 5 in 30-second increments stirring between each round until smooth
Taste and Texture::
Chickpea brownie batter bites have a smooth truffle-like inside with a hard chocolate shell. They are ultra-chocolatey, rich, and decadent tasting. They are creamy and you cannot taste the chickpeas.
Serve and Store:
Chickpea brownie batter protein bites are a delicious high-protein snack or dessert that can be stored in the fridge for around 7-10 days or in the freezer for up to two months.
If you store them in the freezer make sure to let thaw at room temperature for around 5 minutes before eating.

Awesome! Thank you
They look delicious! Can you please provide the nutritional information? Perhaps it’s there somewhere, I just can’t find it. 🙂 Thank you!!!
I’ve made these so many times it’s ridiculous. I put chopped nuts in the chocolate for texture. So good. A question fir you though: why do we put coconut oil in the choc coating? I have been using it and I’m afraid to try it without in case it ruins it. Thank you. ( could I use vegan butter instead) thanks
I’m so happy to hear you love them! The coconut oil is just to help the texture of the melted chocolate to be easy for covering the bites. Some chocolate melts better than other (hu chocolate doesn’t need the coconut oil), howeer I’m not sure if vegan butter would work
Thank you!! They are gone as fast as I can make them. 🙂
