I live in Colorado, but I am still a southern girl who loves her iced tea. The past few weeks have been so hot I have been making a batch of iced tea almost daily. When we opened a super sweet watermelon I knew I just had to combine it into a hydrating refreshing mocktail. Watermelon green tea refresher is made with 3 simple ingredients and is filled with antioxidants. This green tea refresher is gluten-free, vegan, sugar-free, and a summer favorite!

Recipe Tips:

  • You can use a blender or juicer to make the watermelon juice
  • I buy green tea bags and have used Trader Joe’s brand and Yogi Tea
  • If your watermelon doesn’t make it sweet enough for your liking feel free to add in a drop or two of liquid stevia, honey, or agave
  • Don’t have limes? Try lemon juice instead!

Watermelon Green Tea Refresher

Try this fruity and hydrating twist on tea with a watermelon green tea refresher, a healthy alcohol-free summer drink that features watermelon, green tea, and lime.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups cubed seedless watermelon
  • 2 cups brewed green tea
  • 1 lime juiced
  • liquid stevia, aqave, or honey (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Boil two cups of water
  • Add two green tea bags to hot water and let steep. (You can even do this ahead of time and then store the tea in the fridge for up to three days)
  • Add watermelon to a blender and blend until it turns into a juice
  • Pour blended watermelon into a strainer over a measuring cup to get the watermelon juice separated from any pulp
  • Add lots of ice to two glasses
  • Add one cup of watermelon juice and one cup of green tea to each glass
  • Squeeze half a lime into each glass
  • Garnish with watermelon and mint (optional) and enjoy!
  • Optional: add a few drops of liquid stevia, honey, or agave to sweeten it up to your preference
