Piña Colada Protein Smoothie
This piña colada protein smoothie is a bowl of sunshine that taste like the tropics and is a healthy filling way to start your day.
Nothing reminds me of the beach like a piña colada, and while that may not traditionally be the best breakfast, I have taken the flavor of piña colada and made it into a tropical healthy breakfast that is blood-sugar balancing. It is sweet, fruity, and loaded with antioxidants to make you feel nourished and refreshed. This tropical smoothie is vegan, gluten-free, plant-based, and filled with healthy fats, fiber, and protein.

Piña Colada Protein Smoothie is made with:
- Coconut milk: Adds creamy coconut flavor and healthy fats to keep you full and balance blood sugar
- Frozen pineapple: frozen pineapple makes this smoothie tropical and tastes like a pina colada
- Frozen banana: just a little for creaminess and sweetness
- Frozen riced cauliflower: hidden veggies you will never taste but adds bulk, nutrients, and creaminess to the smoothie
- Ground flaxseed: to boost the nutrition and add extra fiber
- Protein Powder: Vanilla protein to add a little sweetness, flavor, and extra protein
- Collagen peptides: adds unflavored protein with the benefits of collagen peptides
Recipe Tips:
- I used canned coconut milk to make this smoothie creamy and have a good balance of healthy fats to keep blood sugar balanced. However, you can use coconut milk from a carton by increasing the amount to 1 cup and leaving out the water
- I like to use 1/2 scoop vegan vanilla protein and 1 scoop collagen peptides. Feel free to use 2 scoops of collagen peptides or your favorite vanilla protein of choice
- Enjoy as a smoothie or a smoothie bowl with toppings such as granola or coconut flakes
