Banana Candy Bars

Banana snickers are one of the best little healthy treats you can keep in the freezer. These caramel banana candy bars are an easy vegan treat everyone will love.

Have you ever seen the Snickers “You’re not you when you’re hungry” commercials? They were definitely funny growing up, but now I know better. Having a Snickers when you are hungry is just asking for a blood sugar spike and crash. So when I saw the banana Snickers trend on TikTok, I just had to jump on it.

However, I switched it up a bit to make these healthy, vegan Caramel Candy Banana Bites. They are an easy sweet treat or snack. You can even make them with green bananas if you want some resistant starch that will help to stabilize your blood sugar and improves your gut health!

You will love Banana Candy Bars because:

  • Satisfy that sweet tooth without the sugar-high
  • Easy to throw together
  • Keeps for up to 2-3 months in the freezer
  • Make with green bananas for resistant starch and better gut health
  • Dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan

Banana Candy Bars are made with:

  • Bananas: green or ripe depending on how sweet you like them to be
  • Nut or seed butter: any nut or seed butter will work for this recipe
  • Chocolate chips: melted in the microwave – If you are looking to make this dairy-free look for chocolate labeled vegan or dairy-free
  • Coconut oil: a little in the coconut oil to make the chocolate easy to drizzle
  • Coconut flakes: coconut flakes add a little something fun on top
  • Sea Salt: salt brings out all the flavor and chocolate with sea salt is always a winning combo

Recipe Tips:

  • You can use green or yellow bananas. The green bananas will not have a strong banana flavor, but will also not be as sweet. The yellow bananas will be sweeter but will have a stronger banana flavor.
  • You may find it easier to slice bananas and freeze them before topping them with nut butter, chocolate, and coconut.
  • I used a caramel sun butter spread, but you can use any nut or seed that you enjoy.
  • Feel free to leave off the coconut flakes or add chopped nuts instead.
  • Store banana candy bars in the freezer; they will last up to 2-3 months.
  • I like to switch up my nuts and seeds for a variety of nutrients geared toward better gut health. I used sun butter in this recipe as it has a more caramel taste than peanut butter. The Healthy Crunch Salted Caramel Spread also tastes amazing in this recipe, and you can find it online or at your local Sprouts.
