Plus, adding fun foods like chocolate during weekday meals will make you less likely to binge on sweets all weekend.
You will love Dark Chocolate Orange Protein Oats because:
- Filled with superfoods, oranges, protein, and hidden veggies
- Helps keep away unwanted sugar cravings
- Soak the oats the night before to reduce morning-time meal prep
- Yummy, indulgent breakfast that will keep you feeling bright
- Vegan and gluten-free
Dark Chocolate Orange Protein Oats are made with:
- Orange segments: boost immunity and a good source of fiber and vitamin C
- Riced Cauliflower: excellent source of vitamin C, reduces inflammation, and aids in digestion
- Chia Seed: aids in digestion, supports blood sugar regulation, and is an excellent source of fiber, magnesium, and phosphorus
- Cacao nibs or chocolate chips: add a little sweetness on top—if you are looking to make this dairy-free, look for chocolate labeled vegan or dairy-free
- Nut butter: drizzle your favorite nut or seed butter on top for healthy fats
- Plant-based milk: you can use almond, cashew, coconut, or macadamia milk
Recipe Tips:
- Don’t have coconut milk? You can easily make these oats with any milk or water you have on hand.
- I always stock up on frozen riced cauliflower from Costco and Trader Joes.
- I like to prepare my oatmeal ingredients in a pot the night before so they are ready to cook in the morning. Letting the oats soak in the liquid and chia seeds makes them extra thick, so you may need to add more liquid in the morning.
- Need a good protein powder? Here is a list of my current favorite protein powders.
- Feel free to sprinkle on coconut flakes, hemp seeds, or add a drizzle of nut butter on top of these delicious protein oats.
