Decided to top this toast with warm cinnamon apples and almond butter to make it taste like apple pie for breakfast. Recipe Tips:

  • Here is my recipe for easy cinnamon apples I like to make a big batch to have for the week
  • I prefer sourdough but feel free to use your favorite type of bread
  • Use a plain thick yogurt like Greek yogurt or a vegan yogurt
  • I don’t peel my apples, but you can easily peel peaches with a vegetable peeler if you like
  • If your yogurt is not thick and creamy mix it with a few chia seeds to thicken it up
  • Use a drippy almond butter that is made with just almonds and salt for the best texture
  • Substitute almond butter with your favorite nut butter or a sprinkle of hemp seeds

Apple Pie Toast

Ingredients
  

Cinnamon Apples:

  • 4 apples diced
  • 1-2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 small lemon juiced
  • 3-4 tbsp water as needed

Apple Pie Toast

  • 1 slice of bread toasted
  • 3-4 tbsp plain yogurt
  • cinnamon apples
  • 1 tbsp almond butter

Instructions
 

Cinnamon Apples

  • Dice apples ( I leave the skin on to get more fiber and make it easier)
  • Add apples, juice of a lemon, water, and cinnamon to a small pot and mix
  • Cook apples over medium-low with cover on for 5-10 minutes stirring occasionally and adding more water if needed
  • When apples reach the desired softness, remove from heat and store in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Apple Pie Toast:

  • Toast a slice of bread
  • Spread a layer of yogurt on toast
  • Top with warm cinnamon apples (freshly made or warmed up)
  • Drizzle almond butter on top
